Chronicles of Clay- 18 month and some.

Clay is growing so fast. He started nursery in July and one month later I got called to be a nursery leader, not sure if thats a coincidence or not haha, but lets say, Clay is not a mama's boy. We got some work. He much prefers dad over mom. At night he throws fits in the middle of the night and if I come in to give him with water or tuck him in he gets SO UPSET and cries even louder. He throws his body away from me and pouts and will only allow Dad to help him at night, which is every night. It’s hard night to take it personally, but honestly Riley is the cool parent so I don’t blame him too much. Super hero dad coming in strong every night to sooth this kiddo. I could probably count on one hand the number of times Clay has slept through the night without waking up screaming. Not sure what’s wrong but always needs some late night water, from dad not mom.
Clay is messy 98% of the time, always food or dirt on his face or clothes, or both. He has a full grown mullet in the back and yet to get a haircut. Clay loves food more than any little human I have met. He opens the fridge these days and pulls out the entire half gallon milk container himself and carries it to us to pour him a glass. He loves Lukey and is chatting more and more each day. He still can't say his own name... but today when Dad asked him "who is that" (pointing to a picture of Clay) he said "Cookie."  We love you Cookie Clay, from the hours of 8am to 11pm anyways.

Germany Day 3: Bacharach (2/2)

Sept. 6: After our lovely morning at Castle Elz we all hopped in the car and drove to our next destination: Bacharach! It was really quiet and beautiful with vineyards stretching up the hills for miles. We spend the rest of the day walking around the streets and trying to figure out dinner! After lots of indecision my mom suggested we go on a date (with Whitney third wheeling). We all went out to eat and got really adventurous with the food trying out some authentic German cuisine, Rileys coming strait out of a can... think canned meat jello thats cold. After dinner we walked around the whole city and went up a little trail for a nice sunset. It was fun with Whitney and enjoyed our evening without the kiddos.

Germany Day 3: Burg Elz (Part 1/2)

Sep. 6: Another day, another Castle! We left our airbnb in Ulmen and headed towards Bacharch, on the way we stopped by Burg Elz Castle. We went really early and walked through the long trail there in the mist, the mist was so dense that we didn't realize we were at the Castle until we arrived. It was really pretty though, there was some filming going on and we had a guy welcome us to the Castle, later we learned it was one of the owners of the castle! Riley had to do some work so we decided instead of jetting off to our airbnb that instead we would take our time here and go inside and explore grounds while Riley worked. It was a really cool castle and anxious to come back. Such a great pit spot and place for Riley to work for a few hours too.

We saw this guy during the tour, who looked exactly like the man we met in the morning, tuned out its his son and one of the owners.

Germany Day 2: Ulmen (Part 1/3)

Day 2! Another action packed day, I get overwhelmed blogging when I have SOOO many pictures and not sure how to organize them... but got to start somewhere...  these photos are from my morning walk in Ulmen outside out airbnb. One of my favorite things about traveling is sneaking away for these solo photo walks. This airbnb spot was one of the best, it was cheaper and in such a little quaint town. Great way to start the day.

loved the grave stones, they had little flower gardens with dirt so the flowers don't die right away

I need to do a collection of doors
these doors on the church were some of my favorites ever
