Love Letters to Lucy- Sept 2023

Dearest Lucy! I just came across these pictures of you covered in blueberries last September-- it made me smile because not much has changed except the weather. One of your first words was blueberry (pronounced bl-oo-b-bba-ies) .. they have become a ritual and you have recently learned to climb up in the fridge and open it and get on a chair to try and get them. You are so spunky these days and not loving the high chair, you are starting to be vocal about sitting up to the big table with your brothers but your so messy and I'm not as ready for that transition. It feels like you are always eating and wanting food and growing way too fast. We love you, our blueberry girl! love, mom

Dolomites: Day 3 (until next time)

September 27, 2023: After a few glorious days camping and hiking it came to a end.. which would of been so sad but I knew I'd be back. We got a late start which was unfortunate because plans changed a bit but still got a hike in and more Italian food and hung out by a lake before saying goodbye and busing to Venice.

These are the only two pictures we got of our hike apparently, it was cut short and not completed due to time. But always nice to be out in nature.

and we did make eating a prority before heading back, best pizza and pasta of the trip too.
Lucy agrees.

lake views, chatting and watching the kids throw rocks in.

my bus buddy, she's a ham.

Dolomites Day 2: (Tre Cime hike)

September 26, 2023: This hike alone made the trip worth it!! Gosh it was amazing, for sure a top 5 favorite hike of my life. It was jaw dropping and we timed it up with the light and crowds and weather, it was just before sunset and wasn't busy and just mind blowing pretty. The kids did so good too, it was a good distance and loop and just everything was amazing. I can hardly wait to take Riley back.  My original trip was suppose to be 8 days, but we decided that was too long to be away, and I was way sad to cut the trip short, but just this hike made it all worth it and was so blown away at the views and wish the pictures could do it justice. Really a bucketlist place.

Lucy was always trying to take all the snacks, the girl loves food. Nelson is 8 months older,  size wise its hard to tell.

and had to end the best day with Italian pizza and gelato.
