After what has miraculously managed to be both the longest and shortest year of my life, my baby boy is ONE!! Luke can point to his noise, blow kisses, take a few steps on his own (but prefers walking hand in hand) he says "daddy" allll day long but "mom" was his first word. He loves being outside, handing from the subway handlebars, and cheesing at all his secret, not so secret, Japanese admirers.
We started out the day with a crib full of balloons and a little panda pancake competition.
Later, we celebrated with a PANDA party with a couple friends. We had Chinese Stir-Fry with Panda Rice-balls and lots of panda treats. I'm quite proud of myself, everything turned out so good.
PANDA-MONIUM! The best word to describe this past year. Definition: (noun) wild and noisy disorder or confusion; uproar. 🐼 I know you will never remember this first year of your life in Tokyo, or the party I worked so hard on, but it was chaos and perfection combined.
Beautiful pattern and I guessed right about it being the boy version :) I knew those fun prints you had just purchased were begging to be used in a quilt.
