Luke Lately - 12 months

I just wanted to sit down and write a little update on baby Luke. Or maybe I should say, "not-so-baby" Luke! This past month he started WALKING and now is allll over the place. He is into the drawers and pulling everything out. Like EVERYTHING.

I started the washing machine and put the clothes into the machine only to hear a toy car go off inside when I started the water that must of ended up in the dirty clothes basket. . .  and then more dirty clothes were later found  (after doing the laundry, of course) relocated in another room. I feel like this is happening far too often these days-- Luke reorganizing and turning our house and kitchenware into his personal play-pen across the floor.

For the past few months, we've been attempting to learn some sign language-- but the only word that has really stuck is "shoe." And he has that one on lock. From the moment Luke wakes up, he is signing "shoe." He even brought me my shoes yesterday-- he has associated 'shoes" with "outside" and he always, always wants to be outside. He will wait and pound on the front door and shout his uncomprehendable but clear demands to just go outside. Sometimes, he will take my hand and walk me to the front door himself. So needless to say, majority of our days are spent outside at the park or walking hand in hand around Japan. I already am dreading winter.

There is so many things I want to remember from this stage-- his constant laugh and chatter with dad and big smiles. The way he randomly wraps his arms around me when I hold him and sneezes me so tight (my favorite thing ever!!).  His open-mouth kisses, and little outstretched wave at people passing. The way he now throws a ball and plays pass with us and himself. The strange obsession he has with the drinking fountain and love for all little people and just his constant observations.

Luke brings so much joy and mess to our home— I just want to relish every single minute (especially these nap time minutes 😌) and not forget anything.
