April 26-27: Barcelona! Our first spot of our Spain road trip. We flew in Saturday night and had the evening and then spent Sunday in the city exploring. We went to church and enjoyed the Spanish meeting and then walked the city eating food and strolling. It was fun hitting up our favorite spots and views and soaking the music and vibrancy that we've come to love from Spain.
Our last night in Barcelona turned out to be the most eventful, when we got a refund from Airbnb (the host changed locations on us at the last minute without telling us, so we got a completely different place than we paid for) but the refund came in unexpectedly which lead to very angry and aggressive texts around midnight from the owner telling us to pack up and leave or give him the payment in cash. After some suspenseful (and not helpful) moments on the phone with Airbnb support and some more angry threats from the owner, we met the guy downstairs with cash in hand and had a relatively amicable meeting and talked through the misunderstanding. We ended up getting some make-up funds from Airbnb but paid for in midnight stress and angst. Now just another crazy travel memory for the books.

We loved this spot the first time we went to Barcelona and had to go again. Still a thumbs up.

A little too much fun with Grandpa, ending up with Lucy face planting into the little Cesar's front window.
My dad's grandpa nickname is Papa Bubbles, so naturally had to take a selfie with this store!
churros dipped in chocolate!
A peaceful Spanish evening.
