Sept 28, 2025: On our way to the coast, we stopped at Predjama Castle in the morning, which we lovely renamed to “Pajama Castle” for simplicity’s sake! The castle is built directly into the mouth of a cave, and seeing it in person is just as dramatic as the photos make it look it surpassed all expectations for me :)
We decided to do the tour, and I’m really glad we did! The history is fascinating, especially learning how the cave system played a role in the castle’s survival. It’s one of those places where the setting alone feels unreal, and then the history just layers on top of it and being able to explore so much of the castle and caves. I was really glad this day to be traveling with the one and only Ashley, who is a full-on castle loving girl and was glad she was keen on going and checking out this neat place.
