We spent our time laughing and catching up as we paddled through the turquoise water. It was so picturesque! We soaked in the scenery and then wandered through the lakeside town. Of course, we made sure to try the famous Bled cream cake.
The last of our bucket-list was the castle! We decided to venture up around the lake and check out the grounds and view from top. Halfway there, the skies burst open and soaked us, but even the downpour became part of the adventure and we met some nice fishing men from England that were catching monster fish in this lake and learned about the strict permit process and how Lake Bled has some of the best fishing in the world. It was all very wet and we didn’t do the castle but made our way back.
We ended our day at a cozy little Airbnb lodge soaking wet and exhausted from a day of fun. It was the best to wake up to a clear sky and a basket of farm-fresh local goods delivered right to our door!
Before saying goodbye to Bled, we took a morning drip in the lake together. Thankfully, no monster fish ate us or were seen and very happy to report we did not bleed in Bled :)
