Jan 21, 2024: It was the best to see how fast our kids bonded and became little besties! It really made the whole trip worth it. The main thing I wanted from the trip was just for cousin and Kenzie time— so it made it all worth it just seeing them get along and so fast. It’s been about 3 years since they all were together last, Clay and Cal were just babies so I felt like they didn’t even know each other and turn overnight became instant buds.
One of the highlights of the day was going to the Gym with Kenzie together. I’m kinda obsessed with it and insanely jealous, it has everything you could think of. We dropped off the kids at a sports class did a hot yoga class together.
The other highlight was going to the Ducks game!! I have never been to a Hockey game, but it’s for sure my favorite sport to watch. This was a high scoring games and had a couple fights. I think what stands out most is how into it Clay was! He was in his element. He got upset when he went to the bathroom and missed a goal. The game started at 7, so wasn’t sure how they would handle being up so late! But it totally worked out and Smitty had the hookups so had a suite which was fun. He also surprised the kids with Duck hats a kid hockey set to play indoors and take home. It was definitely a highlight of the trip, just felt really American and fun to watch and go out. Also, we made the big screen a couple times. . . one with Clay dancing which I wish I had footage haha
